A dozen Black Ops 6 weapons will receive buffs and nerfs in Season 1

Season 1 of BlackOps6 and Warzone is upon us, and ahead of the explosion of content coming to both Call of Duty games, Treyarch has revealed some of the adjustments it will be making to the BO6 arsenal. While Season 1 will introduce some new weapons to the meta, these balance changes to some existing staples will also shake things up quite a bit.

BlackOps6 has undoubtedly been the biggest new thing FPS game has been in the Call of Duty series for a long time, offering an enjoyable, well-produced campaign and a Zombies mode that feels like a throwback to Black Ops’ past glories. The core multiplayer experience is the real winner for me though – while not perfect, it’s easily the most fun and least maddening CoD multiplayer since 2018’s Black Ops 4 in my opinion.

Besides the season 1 dumping an almost incomprehensible amount of content In the game, Treyarch also hands out a series of buffs and nerfs to 12 weapons, including some that are currently quite popular choices in people’s top games. Black Ops 6 Loadouts.

One weapon that immediately stands out in the new set of patch notes is the XM4 assault rifle. A reliable assault rifle for many and the first weapon you have access to in that class. It just got a modest but important buff to the damage it does. At all damage ranges, the weapon will do two points more damage in Season 1. This is offset slightly by a nerf to the headshot multiplier, but still a Black Ops 6 XM4 gear still seems completely feasible for the start of the new season.

Nearly identical changes have been made to some of the XM4’s cousins in the assault rifle class; damage has also increased for the AMES 85 and the GPR 91.

Elsewhere, all of the game’s sniper rifles are receiving general improvements that improve recoil resistance and the amount of idle swing you experience while ADSing. Also, sniper bonuses have been increased from standard attachments that improve running speed.

Outside of weapon balancing, there will be more improvements to spawn logic, the Archangel scorestreak is less likely to blow you up if you fire it near walls, and there’s also a reduction in footstep volume – also for those who use the Ninja perk.
