A pedestrian who thought he had hit the jackpot as he walked down the street was instead fooled with a questionable way of advertising.

The experience was documented in a video placed in the r/a****** design subreddit, where the person filming appeared to find a wallet on the ground with cash falling out of it. However, it was unfolded and revealed to be a flyer advertising a Slovakian restaurant called Gorilla Burger.

A commentator translated the message of the ad read: “No… this is not your lucky day… this is a commercial. Oops… Actually this is your lucky day, turn over the paper.” On the back of the paper was a photo of a civilian.

Of course, commenters pointed out that the restaurant could have done that chose a better option to promote themselves then junk paper on the sidewalk.

“So the ad was literally made to be litter. Awesome,” said one commenter wrote sarcastic.

‘A surefire way to prevent me from ever patronizing you company”, another commenter declared. “Maybe I’m going there just to throw your trash in your own building, but that’s it.”

The restaurant’s advertising tactics are an example of how some do it companies ignore their negative impact on the environment to promote their product.

In a similar situation, a local company threw resealable plastic bags filled with rocks and business cards in people’s driveways, creating unwanted trash. Unsurprisingly, homeowners were not happy about the litter on their properties.

To make a difference, it is important to support companies who do not engage in these methods and instead use sustainable practices. Invest in reusable products and by reducing your reliance on disposable items, you can also make a personal contribution to the environment.

“Take it to the police station,” the user says declared. “They won’t really punish the restaurant, but they can call them and tell them to stop littering.”
