Keira Knightley has insisted she can no longer walk in heels and will never wear a crop top again.

The actress, 39, reflected on her iconic ’90s fashion in a new interview on Sunday, declaring: ‘It was all about my midriff!’

She was known for wearing tiny tops, low-slung denim and skimpy scarves after coming into the spotlight in her late teens.

One of her most famous roles is also playing Juliette in the 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham, where she often wore a sports bra.

She told me The times that she recently saw a group of teenage girls wearing a similar style on the subway and thought, “I was like, ‘Wait, are these my clothes?’

“I don’t have the diaphragm anymore, so it won’t come out.”

Keira spoke to the publication to promote her new series Black Doves.

Last month, Black Doves released the first trailer for the upcoming Netflix series, which stars Keira and Sarah Lancashire as a spy and espionage master.

It gave fans a taste of the new thriller, which follows Keira’s character Helen Webb as a cop who passes on secrets from her politician husband (Andrew Buchan).

Keira is a spy for the Black Doves organization, led by the enigmatic Reed (Sarah), and has been feeding them political information for a decade.

Helen’s secret lover Jason (Andrew Koji) is murdered and Reed informs her that her position in the organization may have been compromised.

Her theory proves correct when Keira is attacked by assailants, but is saved by a friend from her past, Sam Young, played by Ben Whishaw.
