Sheduer Sanders Objects to Dangerous Late Hit on Him: ‘I Just Don’t Know How That’s Legal’

The Kansas Jayhawks Sheduer Sanders bothered them all day, but the star quarterback mainly objected to one hit.

In the second half, Sanders rolled out to the left before throwing a pass.

One tap after Sanders released the ball, Kansas’ Dean Miller hit Sanders below the knees, causing the quarterback to spin backward and fold upon contact with the field.

Sanders wasn’t happy about it.

“I just don’t know how that’s legal in general. I understand that. It is what it is. There are a few plays like that, but… yeah,” he said at his post-match press conference.

Sanders wasn’t the only one to voice his opinion on the hit; former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III wasn’t happy either.

“At any level of football, this is a late and dirty blow for Shedeur Sanders. There is no place for this in the game,” said Griffin.

Another X user wrote“If Shadeur’s cleat had been in the ground, it could have been a life-changing injury.”

Warren Sharp added“How can this not bother the passer? Dirty play to take out Shedeur Sanders’ knees.”

Miller is listed at 235 pounds and three inches taller than the 215-pound quarterback.

Sanders himself was not so innocent later in the game, when he pushed a referee from the back after a scrum between players from both sides.

Colorado should win at home State of Oklahoma and some sort of combination of losses by Iowa State (at home vs. Kansas State), Arizona State (at Arizona) and BYU (at home vs. Houston) to play in the Big 12 title game.
