A woman was killed and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 228 in Linn County Friday evening.

Oregon State Police said a Dodge pickup driven by 36-year-old Michael Halsell of Sweet Home was traveling eastbound on the highway when it crossed into the westbound lane and struck an Acura SUV driven by Alisha Rowlett, also from Sweet Home. The accident happened near milepost 16 around 5 p.m.

Rowlett, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger and Halsell were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
