Trump Cabinet choices demonize people with ‘good education,’ says Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton has accused Donald Trump of demonizing people who have ‘a good education’ and ‘wear ties to work’ with his cabinet choices.

The 42nd president said the Republican presidential election was an attempt to destroy the public’s remaining trust in the federal government.

Trump has made a number of them controversial choices for influential positions to manage his second term in the White House, including an intelligence chief with pro-Kremlin views and an attorney general with persistent allegations of paying for sex with a 17-year-old girl.

The Telegraph has previously reported that loyalty was his top priority in building the next administration, after Trump felt he had been betrayed by many more establishment-friendly choices during his first term.

In an interview on MSNBC, Clinton said Trump’s final administration would say “yes” to the newly elected president “regardless of the facts, regardless of who gets hurt.”

“He believes his supporters have no confidence in the federal government. And God knows he’s done everything he can to destroy that trust,” Clinton said.

“He believes he can just say: ‘Well, I appointed these people. They’re smart and they’re going to shake things up.”

“But I think that by demonizing all institutions, and people who wear ties – like you and me – to work and get a good education, we delegitimize not only people who are too hypocritical and too determined in their manner. , but people who know things that are very important to us today and very important to our continued growth, prosperity and harmony.”

Trump’s anti-establishment Cabinet faces an uphill battle to be confirmed by the Senate, which has already forced his nominee for attorney general to withdraw from the confirmation process.

Matt Gaetz resigned amid a series of sexual misconduct allegations investigated by the House Ethics Committee. He denies the accusations.

Piet Hegsetha Fox News host who was Trump’s pick for defense secretary is also facing sexual assault allegations. He says the meeting was consensual. Mr Hegseth’s lawyer said his client had paid the prosecutor to keep the allegations quiet, fearing he would lose his job at the broadcaster.
