Owner of a Jewish hospital cafe caught on video giving the Nazi salute

A woman who was filmed giving a Nazi salute and making anti-Semitic threats about the “final solution” in Canada has been identified as the owner of two kosher cafes at a Jewish hospital.

Mai Abdulhadi was identified when shocked java chain Second Cup Café cut ties and immediately closed its two locations at Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital. Global News reported.

Her staffers had identified her as the woman who went viral, spreading the hateful comments and gestures while taunting counter-protesters at the rally last Thursday.

The footage shows a woman initially shielding her identity with a keffiyeh scarf, surgical mask and sunglasses as she chanted: “The final solution is coming your way.”

“The final solution. Do you know what the final solution is? Do you know what the final solution is?” she was heard warning, referring to Adolf Hitler’s plan to exterminate all Jews.

In another clip, the woman was captured on camera with her face visible as she marched toward pro-Israel protesters while giving the Nazi salute.

Abdulhadi was quickly identified after videos of the sick ordeal exploded on social media, Second Cup Canada president Peter Mammas said.

“We spoke to many employees and they confirmed to us that it was her in the videos,” Mammas said.

“Second Cup has no tolerance for hate speech. In consultation with the hospital, we have closed the franchisee’s café and are terminating their franchise agreement,” said the company, which is certified kosher by the Jewish Community Council of Montreal.

“This franchisee’s actions are not only a violation of our franchise agreement, but they also violate the values of inclusion and community that we stand for at Second Cup.”

The region’s healthcare provider, Integrated University Health and Social Service Centres, said it supported the company’s decision.

“This video involves a Second Cup franchisee, one of the private tenants operating within the Jewish General Hospital,” a statement said.

“We fully support Second Cup’s decision to take swift and decisive action in this matter by closing the franchisee’s cafes and terminating their lease.”
