Man injured in shooting in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – A man was injured following a shooting Tuesday morning in Lynchburg, according to Lynchburg police.

Police say officers responded to reports of shots fired at 12:15 a.m. in the 3300 block of Old Forest Road, where a man was found with a gunshot wound to the arm.

According to police, the shooter was located and arrested at the scene.

The victim was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say there is no threat to the community.

The identity of the shooter has not yet been released and the incident remains under investigation.
