Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said this week that a call his office initially responded to as a medical emergency has since been ruled a homicide and the victim’s son has been charged with murder.

Pace said officers responded to a home in the 900 block of Culkin Road at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 29, where 74-year-old Charles Lee White was found deceased.

Pace said the Warren County coroner’s office found inconsistencies with the scene that led to a request for an autopsy from the state medical examiner’s office.

Pace said that while he could not yet release all the details of the investigation, information from the medical examiner’s office led to the classification of the death as a homicide, as well as the arrest of the victim’s son, 43-year-old . Charles Dudley White.

White was arrested Monday and appeared in Warren County Justice Court later in the day, where he was formally charged with murder and held without bond.
