The investigation into the suicide of a 15-year-old boy has revealed that he was sexually abused and harassed by a 26-year-old sales manager, Pune police said on Wednesday.

Police have arrested the man on several charges, including abetment to suicide, an official said.

The boy hanged himself in his home on October 15.

“The investigation revealed that an unidentified person had sent messages to the boy threatening to make his photos and videos public. The police have traced the suspect,” said a police officer.

The suspect blackmailed the boy

The investigation revealed that the man, who works as a sales manager, had sexually assaulted the teenage boy and recorded the act on his mobile phone, he said.

“The suspect later started harassing the boy by sending him the photos and videos on his phone, which led to the teenager committing suicide,” the officer added.

A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO). No arrest has been made.
