KL Rahul to Bengaluru FC? Cricketer sends message to Parth Jindal after IPL auction

Star India batsman KL Rahul asked his Delhi Capitals (DC) owner Parth Jindal for openings in his football team Bengaluru FC after showing his football skills on the cricket field. Notably, during the first Test against Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Rahul was seen having fun in the field as he collected the ball at a backward point and juggled it with his feet.

The Indian batsman played the ball with his feet and juggled it in the air by kicking it several times before finally grabbing it in his hands. Seeing him playing with the cricket ball like a footballer, even the Australian commentators were impressed and praised the Indian star for his skills.

After the match, Rahul also shared the clip of him showing off his football skills on his Instagram story and asked his new owner Parth Jindal if he has any vacancies at Bengaluru FC. “@parthjindal got an opening at @bengalurufc?,” Rahul wrote on his Instagram account.

Rahul also got a response from the football club, who were willing to loan him from Delhi Capitals and promised to release him in time for the IPL. “Fancy a move, @klrahul? I sent you a fax, @delhicapitals. We’ll have him back before the #IPL!,” wrote Bengaluru FC on their X account.

Rahul bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) for INR 14 crore

Recently, Rahul was bought for INR 14 crore by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League 2025) auction. Remarkably, the opening batsman was released by his previous team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the auction after LSG failed to qualify for the play-offs for the first time during the 2024 season.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were the first to enter the bidding race to have Rahul on board. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also entered the fray and competed hard with Delhi after RCB withdrew for Rs 10.50 crore. RCB had hinted about bringing back their hometown hero, but they were not willing to go beyond the Rs 11 crore mark. Therefore, Rahul was eventually sold to Delhi Capitals who were looking for a captain after Rishabh Pant decided to be released from the franchise.
