Woman killed in wreck near Kelly Springs Road and HWY 53 identified

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – One woman is dead and another injured in a wreck at the intersection of Kelly Springs Road and Highway 53 on Friday.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Tara KC, 52, was fatally injured when the 2015 Honda Civic she was driving was struck by a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander.

The wreck happened around 8:27 a.m., according to HEMSI spokesman Don Webster

Webster said the driver of the other vehicle was taken to Huntsville Hospital in stable condition.

ALEA said the northbound lanes of Alabama 53 near Kelly Springs Road are currently blocked and will remain so indefinitely while troopers investigate the crash.
