MMH Immediate Care opens in January

(Batesville, Ind.) – Beginning January 6, Margaret Mary Health will offer direct walk-in care (formerly known as minor care) at our Batesville Health Center, located at 256 State Route 129, just south of the Southeast Indiana YMCA and across from Gillman Home Center. Immediate care provides prompt treatment for non-life-threatening conditions and minor injuries that require immediate attention but are not serious enough to warrant a visit to the emergency department.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Examples of conditions treated in direct care include ear infections, colds, flu, coughs, rashes, minor fractures, sprains, and cuts. Vaccinations can also be scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Margaret Mary’s Health Center in Batesville by calling 812.932.5105.

“By offering immediate care at this location, our goal is to provide patients with more affordable and convenient treatment options,” said Liz Leising, president and CEO of MMH. “We hope this step will help divert non-emergency cases from our emergency department so that our emergency room staff can spend more time and resources caring for those who are critically ill.”

From January 6, minor care will no longer be offered in our emergency department. Patients with non-urgent conditions are still being treated; However, emergency level charges apply
