Four dogs rescued in Kilkenny, including one ‘thrown into a river’

My Lovely Horse Rescue has shared details with the public about a recent ‘heartbreaking’ incident to which they responded Kilkenny.

“We had an absolutely horrible evening,” a spokesperson for My Lovely Horse Rescue wrote in late November.

‘Four dogs needed help in Kilkenny. A lab, two puppies and this poor saluki.”

According to the organization: “She had been thrown into a river and luckily was rescued by a man we knew in Kilkenny. She was freezing and so still, terrified. This photo tells you everything. She has only been through hell, skin and bones, weak.”

The dog, named ‘Jewel’ by staff, has since left South View Veterinary Hospital where she was treated.

“She’s doing well now, but she’s still so quiet, it’s heartbreaking,” My Lovely Horse Rescue said.

“Everyone loves her. She is so scared of people, she has been through so much cruelty and trauma. Our poor baby, she brings tears every time we see her sad face. It’s shocking that this poor girl is so scared .Jewel goes straight to a loving foster home with a big comfortable couch.”

The organization encourages people to donate to help them with their efforts.

“Please donate. Jewel and so many others are the reason we made our €300,000 appeal. We cannot survive without you.”
