One dead in Vancouver house fire

VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) – One person died in a house fire in Vancouver on Friday.

Around 2 a.m. Friday, Vancouver Fire responded to a report of a house fire at 15102 Northeast 81st Way.

22 firefighters responded.

When Vancouver Fire arrived, they saw flames coming from the front of a one-story home.

A week after the Thanksgiving crash that destroyed Jim’s Ice Cream Shop, a man is still in the hospital after being trapped under the rubble following the crash.

Crews entered the building to search for survivors and found a man unconscious and not breathing inside. He was immediately taken outside for medical attention.

Life-saving measures were taken, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighting continued until the fire was extinguished; the cause of the fire is under investigation.
