A man who visited King Charles’ favorite shop has revealed how much he spent at the popular store and shared his feelings on a sausage roll that set him back £3.50.

Harrison Webb posted a video of himself entering the popular luxury store Fortnum and Mason, located on Piccadilly in London, next to the Ritz hotel.

While he spent £117 on a variety of items including fresh pasta dishes, coffee and Scotch eggs, there was one snack in particular that caught his eye.

He was very complimentary of the shop’s sausage roll, commenting: ‘The filling in it, the flavours, the spices… the sausage meat is just so well seasoned.

“The dough is gorgeous, it’s not crispy, but I imagine when you put this in the oven it will be absolutely incredible.”

Highlighting the value for money despite the higher price, he commented: ‘Price wise, £3.50 for this I think is brilliant. I don’t think even normal people can make such a big sausage roll for €3.50.’

Harrison was satisfied with most of the items, but noted that regular shopping at such a store would require a significant budget.

A fourth added: ‘These prices aren’t bad actually. Sure…pricey, but not shabby.”

It comes after Fortnum and Mason were investigated by council officers in March following complaints that they may have disguised cheap factory farmed salmon as game.

At Fortnums, specially prepared salmon, such as a ‘Secret Smokehouse Salmon’, costs as much as £75 per kilo.

Fortnums confirmed it has changed its labels after concerns were raised.

It said: ‘Fortnum & Mason does not sell wild salmon, and all salmon on our fish counter comes from RSPCA approved farms.

‘We label all salmon to let customers know the location of the farm, although in this case we checked all labels at our fish counter and found a number of labels missing provenance information.

‘This is not normal practice and these have now been corrected and we can confirm that all salmon is labeled to let customers know the location of the farm.’
