A vlogger in Goa has been accused of sexual harassment after he was caught taking videos of a Russian woman sunbathing on a beach in the state.

According to a PTI report, the vlogger identified as a Bangladeshi national had allegedly posted a video of another woman on a beach in the coastal state.

The timeline on the accused vlogger’s social account suggested that the videos were posted approximately eight and nine months ago.

“The Cyber ​​Police Station has been directed to investigate the matter,” Goa Police wrote on X.

A senior official of the cybercrime cell said the vlogger is under investigation for his actions during his visit to the state.

“We will take appropriate action once the investigation is completed,” he said.

In April two construction workers aged 22 and 24 were arrested for the gruesome rape and murder of a five-year-old girl in the Vasco area of ​​the state.

Goa, a popular destination among travelers from India and around the world, was recently in the news after a report claimed that foreign tourism in the state had failed to reach pre-Covid-19 levels.

Only 1.5 million foreign tourists visited Goa in 2023, compared to 8.5 million in 2019, according to a report by the China Economic Information Center (CEIC).

Goa tourism department said more than 4.5 lakh foreign tourists arrived in the state in 2023.
