Jay-Z demands that anonymous rape accuser name himself

The shocking sexual abuse allegations against Carter, 55, were revealed after his name was added to a civil lawsuit filed by an alleged victim of Bad Boy Records founder Combs, who faces numerous federal charges of sex trafficking and extortion.

The suit was filed by Tony Buzbee, a Texas attorney who represents a number of people who say they have been sexually abused and/or drugged by Diddy since his fame in the 1990s. In a separate letter sent to the judge the same day, an attorney for the rapper accused Buzbee of orchestrating a “months-long press campaign aimed at inflaming public opinion.”

In a statement to the Daily Beast, Carter’s representatives said the move was necessary so that the rapper “could properly defend himself against this false claim in a transparent manner through the legal process.”

The filing on monday also confirmed that carter the anonymous A-list celebrity that Buzbee sued earlier in November.

Monday’s filing said the Texas-based attorney “has a history of targeting celebrities by making false allegations of misconduct, and Mr. Carter attempted to expose attorney Buzbee’s latest racketeering scheme in (a) lawsuit in California on November 18, 2024, after being issued a citation. Buzbee did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Beast, but previously called the lawsuit against him “laughable.” The lawyer said NBC News “Anyone who suggests that a demand letter, especially the one I sent, constitutes extortion or blackmail is foolish.”

Buzbee previously said Carter tried to “bully and harass me and this accuser,” but praised the alleged victim for standing up to the rapper’s criticism. “She is strengthened. I am very proud of her determination.”
