Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by a motorist in Scarborough

A woman was taken to a trauma center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after she was struck by the driver of a vehicle in Scarborough on Monday evening, paramedics say.

The crash happened near Warden and Bertrand avenues, north of Eglinton Avenue East.

Toronto police said they were called to that area shortly before 7:30 p.m. after a pedestrian struck your driver. The victim is a woman in her 70s, they said.

According to police, the driver remained at the scene.

Currently, the intersection of Warden and Bertrand is closed due to a police investigation. Motorists are urged to consider alternative routes.
