Man arrested for drug trafficking in Oconee Co.

WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said a man has been arrested on drug trafficking charges.

According to the sheriff’s office, on Dec. 6, a deputy saw a motorcyclist passing another vehicle on a double yellow line on Poplar Springs Road. The officer activated his blue lights in an attempt to stop the motorcycle.

The deputy also saw the motorcyclist pass a school bus that had stopped in the road to drop off students, but lost sight of the motorcycle, officials said.

According to officials, the deputy later observed the motorcycle behind a home on Brownwood Drive and after searching the home, they located the driver, 27-year-old Robert Mitchell Epperson.

He was arrested and the bicycle was towed away.

Officers said that after a search of the home, approximately 14.61 grams of meth was found on Epperson.

He was also charged with failure to stop for a blue light, reckless driving, failure to stop for a stopped school bus, driving under suspension with an improper license plate and resisting arrest.

Epperson was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center and given a combined bond of $14,942.50 for traffic charges.
