Message from Muskegon business owner to vandal

MUSKEGON, Mich. – A photo of a West Michigan business is getting some attention after someone spray-painted the SUV and broke the window.

Muskegon’s Big Weezy’s Kitchen shared a photo of its owner’s wrecked SUV on Monday. After several hours, there were almost 200 comments, many expressing their disgust and shock at the vandalism.

“It was like he came from this side. He walked around the building first so we couldn’t see what he was doing in the back,” said Tawayne Davis, owner of Big Weezy’s Kitchen.

The SUV has since been removed.

“There were a few letters on the side. I couldn’t identify all three letters, but the first letter was a K,” Davis said.

The owner says the SUV is their family vehicle for trips. He says after seeing it destroyed, he wants to know why.

“I was actually shocked by it,” Davis said. “When I looked inside the vehicle there was a container of petrol inside and the windows had been broken.”

Davis, who many know as Big Weezy, is not discouraged by what happened near his business on Hackley Avenue.

“I mean, now that that incident happened and didn’t drive me away, I still love the neighborhood,” Davis said. “The neighborhood was supportive, so I didn’t take it as something racist.”

Muskegon’s police chief tells FOX 17 they are investigating what happened.

“I don’t know if it was some little kids or what, but we did see footage of it, and there was a tall man,” Davis added.

“Just make better choices. That’s just more advice I can give that person,” Davis said. ‘I will forgive them. I am a godly man.”
