A swatting incident in Georgia at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s home leads to a fatal car crash

An apparent whack-a-mole call at the North Georgia at home by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., left a woman dead after a car crash involving local police.

Greene reported on social media Monday that she was the subject of a bomb threat targeting her home. The congressman said the The Rome Police The assistant chief received the threat via email, which led to a bomb squad being dispatched to her home.

Greene says this isn’t the first time she has been the subject of a swatting call since being elected to Congress, noting that she has been “slapped at least nine times.”

A swat call alerts 911 to a false threat against a specific location or person, which triggers a police response and can divert resources from real crimes or threats.

Greene said the email is traced to a Russian IP address and that her office will work with local and federal law enforcement. including the FBI, to bring the perpetrator to justice.

Rome police reported that while attempting to respond to Greene’s home, a fatal traffic incident involving one of their officers occurred.

“On Monday, December 9, a Rome Police Department officer was traveling in a personal vehicle to take his place with the Bomb Squad on a call. This officer was involved in a traffic accident on Redmond Rd near Walmart, which caused significant travel delays .around the Norfolk Southern Railroad Tracks.”

Greene said she was “heartbroken” over the fatal crash, which she said claimed the life of a woman and injured a police officer.

‘I’m sad right now. I just got word that an innocent woman died today in a… car accident involving a member of the Rome Police bomb squad who responded to the threat at my home,” she wrote.

“These violent political threats have fatal consequences. It is an unnecessary burden on our law enforcement officers, who must treat them seriously. The officer responded to protect my life. And now a woman has lost her life because of this despicable act,” the post said . said. “My prayers are with Tammie Pickelsimer, her family, the injured officer and the entire Rome Police Department.”

Greene was noticeably outraged during her updates, blaming the perpetrator for the call of committing murder.

“I’m sick, but I’m also angry. This should never have happened and I pray it will never happen again,” she said.

She then thanked the Rome police for protecting the city and risking their lives.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
