Saxon Earley: Plymouth Argyle could consider loan recall, says Wayne Rooney

Plymouth Argyle head coach Wayne Rooney says the club could recall Saxon Earley from his side season-long loan at Lincoln City if he doesn’t get more playing time.

The 22-year-old left-sided player is yet to feature for the Imps after picking up a back injury.

He made one start and one substitute in the EFL Trophy, with his last appearance being a 10-minute cameo from the bench as Lincoln beat non-league Chesham 4-0 in the first round of the FA Cup more than a month ago.

“We have to keep an eye on it and see what options we have,” Rooney said.

“If he doesn’t play that’s something we would look at, of course he would,” he added when asked about a recall.

“We would bring him back and look at him if that’s the case and decide from there whether he stays with us or whether we loan him out again.

“That purely depends on where we think he is and where we are as a team.”
