Moonis Elahi declared perpetrator in double murder case

Former federal minister Chaudhry Moonis Elahi has been declared the perpetrator in a double murder case. The ruling was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Mian Javed Akram in Gujrat.

Moonis Elahi, together with other suspects, is said to be involved in the murder of two people. The incident took place on June 28, 2023 in Chakriyan in which two persons were shot dead.

Moonis Elahi was named as a suspect in the case following revelations made by the other suspects in the First Information Report (FIR). He has been booked under Section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with instigation or incitement to murder.

One of the co-defendants, Muhammad Akhtar, died in prison during the trial. The case was registered at Mangowal police station on June 29, 2023.
