The suspect allegedly struck another vehicle from behind and pushed it against a building.

A driver involved in an alleged road rage incident that led to a crash into a building was arrested Monday on multiple charges, officials said.

At 3:45 p.m., Stoughton Police responded to 218 Canton St. for a report of a two-car crash involving a vehicle crashing into a building, according to a police statement.

Erin McElroy, 44, of West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, allegedly struck another vehicle from behind, leading to the crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed that immediately after crashing into the other vehicle, McElroy exited her vehicle and “struck the other vehicle involved multiple times with a metal pipe,” police said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the building suffered serious injuries and was taken to Boston Medical Center, authorities said.

McElroy was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton for evaluation. She will be booked upon release from the hospital, police said.

McElroy was charged with malicious damage to property, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and disturbing the peace, according to the statement, although authorities said more charges may be added.

McElroy will be arraigned in Stoughton District Court on Tuesday. The case is still under investigation.
