Victims identified in deadly Dallas crash that split McLaren sports car in half

DALLAS, Texas (CBS Texas) – Two people are dead and a third was hospitalized after a Monday afternoon crash involving a luxury sports car.

The crash happened Monday after 3 p.m. in the 8500 block of Abrams Road in Dallas.

Dallas police said two vehicles were involved, including a McLaren supercar.

CBS News Texas Chopper was on scene Monday and showed a sedan with front-end damage and the McLaren split in half.

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, one of the vehicles struck a tree, killing both passengers inside. DFR said they were inaccessible and heavy rescue efforts were required.

The two people who died have been identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner as Robert Rocha, 31, and Cristobal Flores, 29.

One person from the other car was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. Officials did not reveal which vehicle Rocha and Flores were in.

It is not known what caused or caused the crash.

McLaren sports cars are known for their speed: the fastest model can reach 186 mph (300 km/h) in just 12.8 seconds, the company says. A 2020 McLaren 570S, which appears to be the model involved in the crash, has a price tag starting at $195,000, the newspaper said. Car and driver.
