The 1% Club viewers were left stunned by the show’s outcome after calling it “too easy”.

Lee Mack returned to screens on Tuesday evening (December 10) with the first of four special editions of the ITV quiz show, which runs every night until Thursday.

The popular program allows viewers to play along at home via the app, but as the show progressed, fans claimed the questions were far from difficult.

When it came to the 1% question, eight participants were given the opportunity to answer it.

This only fueled viewers’ speculation that the questions weren’t hard enough, as one stated: “If you have that many people at the end it means the questions are too easy, I’m afraid.”

The eight players had the chance to walk away with £1,250, but they all chose to risk it all to answer the 1% question.

The money left in the pot was £97,000, meaning whoever answered the question correctly would split the prize.

The 1% question was, “What word is represented by this image?”

Below the question was a picture of the number 8 in what looked like it was in an ice cube. But in a shocking turn of events, none of the eight players answered the question correctly.

Lee revealed that the answer was “incubate.”

The twist took viewers by surprise when someone shared: “Never seen many answer the 1 percent question before, and all men and all wrong. Difficult, they couldn’t even tell what the thing behind the 8 was supposed to be.”

A second fumed: “That last question from #The1PercentClub was unfair!! It wasn’t even drawn as a cube, it looked like a mirror!! Those guys got robbed!”

Another added: “How did none of them get that?! I literally took my head off my phone, looked at the picture and said ‘incubate’.”
