Police try to piece together attack puzzle in Hawke’s Bay: multiple calls, one person fighting for life, another in hospital, one car stolen

One person has been seriously injured and another seriously injured in overnight attacks in Hawke’s Bay, which police say may be linked.

Hawke’s Bay Area Commander Inspector Lincoln Sycamore said an investigation took place on Holmes Pl in Flaxmere on Wednesday morning after they were called to a property at 1.40am.

Several calls came in about fighting and disorder, but when police arrived there was only one person in the house.

They said the victim was “taken to the hospital by someone else” and that the perpetrators stole a car from the address and fled, Sycamore said.
