1 seriously injured in four-vehicle crash in Corvallis; woman arrested for DUII

CORVALLIS, Ore. (KPTV) – A drunk driver was arrested after causing a multi-vehicle crash with injuries Monday afternoon, according to Corvallis police.

At approximately 4:45 p.m., officers were called to a crash near Southwest Philomath Boulevard and Southwest 35th Street. Officers arrived on scene and found four vehicles involved.

Police say an investigation revealed that 24-year-old Kala Baldwin was driving a red Ford Mustang westbound when she failed to stop at a red light on SW 35th Street and struck a stopped Volvo, which was pushed into a stopped Jeep SUV , who then drove in. a stopped Mazda pickup.

The driver of the Volvo, a 54-year-old man from Corvallis, suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Police said the people in the other vehicles suffered minor injuries and did not need to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers determined Baldwin was intoxicated at the time of the crash, according to police. She was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail for third-degree assault, DUII, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
