Calera police officer seriously injured after car crash in Jemison

JEMISON, Ala. (WBRC) – A Calera police officer is in hospital with serious injuries after a car accident on Tuesday evening.

The two-vehicle crash occurred in the area of ​​Highway 191 and County Road 42 in Jemison.

Calera Police Chief David Hyche said the officer was on duty en route to her home when the accident happened. She is currently being treated at UAB Hospital.

Chief Hyche released the following statement to WBRC:

“We would like to thank Chilton County Emergency Services and UAB ER staff. Now we all pray for a full and speedy recovery.”
