Cheung Ka-long x Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Release Information

Nike Hong Kong honors two-time Olympic gold medalist in fencing Cheung Ka-long with a special edition of the Air zoom Vomero 5.

The new model continues the design ethos of the Air Max 97 model from two years ago, released in honor of the athlete’s first gold at the 2020 Olympics. The sneaker features a retro color scheme of cobalt blue, black, gray and cream, while the metal panel swoosh celebrates Cheung’s gold achievements reflects. “I believe gold brings me luck,” he said in a statement. Finally, his iconic motto “DON’T LOSE YOUR WAY” is infused into the shoe’s DNA, a tribute to his spirit and an inspiration for the next generation of athletes.

“The shoe style won’t limit my creativity; on the contrary, it makes me think about how I can make the most of the possibilities
resources available,” Cheung added. “Just like fencing, although the sport has its own rules and patterns, I always approach it from different angles and try to do the best I can.”

Cheung became the first Hong Kong athlete to take home two consecutive Olympic gold medals in fencing, and the second to become an Olympic champion. At the 2024 Olympic Games, he defeated Italian Filippo Macchi 15–14.

Nike’s Cheung Ka-long-inspired Air Zoom Vomero 5 Special Edition will release on December 14th for a retail price of $1,099 HKD (approximately $140 USD).
