Pedestrian was struck and killed in Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday evening

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One person died Tuesday evening after being struck by an SUV while crossing a busy street in Kansas City, Missouri.

Police said the crash happened at East 63rd Street and Swope Parkway at 10:50 p.m.

The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was in the middle of East 63rd Street when he was struck by the SUV.

The driver of the SUV was traveling west on East 63rd Street when the crash happened, police said.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police crash investigators.

This was the 89th traffic fatality of 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri.

This time last year, there were 98 traffic fatalities in KCMO.
