Driver killed, 2 others injured in three-vehicle crash in Freehold

Authorities are investigating a three-vehicle crash that killed a driver and injured two others in Freehold Township on Tuesday, officials said.

According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, the crash happened Monday around 10:25 p.m. on Jackson Mills Road near Geisler Road.

A 20-year-old man driving north on Jackson Mills Road collided with a van driven by a 40-year-old man. A third vehicle, driven by a 21-year-old man, struck the passenger side of the van and came to a stop on the right side of the road, Santiago said in a statement.

The 20-year-old driver was taken to a hospital, where he died at 6:22 a.m. Tuesday, Santiago said. The two other drivers were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Santiago said.

The name of the murdered man had not yet been released as of early Wednesday.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team and the Freehold Township Police Department. No charges or citations have been issued.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact Sgt. Kristian DeVito at 800-533-7443 or Police Officer Lorenzo Felix at 732-462-7908.
