Suspect fire at infamous Henryetta murder-suicide home, investigation ongoing

The so-called “House of Horrors” destroyed by fire on Tuesday.

The Henryetta home is known for a mass murder that took place there in 2023.

The Dewar and Henryetta fire departments responded to the fire early Tuesday morning.

NewsChannel 8 spoke with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, which is conducting the investigation.

“We have evidence indicating this fire may be suspicious in nature,” said James Fullingim, the assistant state fire marshal.

“On May 23, a murder-suicide event occurred in that house,” Fullingim said.

Inside the house, sex offender Jesse McFadden shot two teenage girls, his wife and his stepchildren before killing himself.

All victims had gunshot wounds to the head and the bodies were discovered after a warrant was obtained to search the property and McFadden’s home.

The family of one of the victims, 14-year-old Ivy Webster, said crucial evidence was left at the scene, including chains, sex toys, laptops and even mobile phones.

The Websters called the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office, who then collected the evidence.

The investigation was turned over to OSBI, which led us to a fire investigation on Tuesday at a vacant home that was unsecured.

“You would wonder why the door wasn’t locked. It looked like some windows had been broken and that indicated someone had been inside,” Fullingim said.

Fullingim says the Dewar and Henryetta fire departments will release an incident report on Wednesday.
