New power ranking not favorable to looters

The Las Vegas Raiders couldn’t get the job done against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, losing their ninth straight game and bringing their record to 2-11 on the season. While they currently have sole possession of the first overall pick in the NFL Draft, motivation heading into the season could be dampening.

With quarterback Aidan O’Connell joining Gardner Minshew on the Raiders quarterback injured list, this Raiders team’s upside for the rest of the year looks bleak. After their loss, and according to CBS Sportsthe Raiders are at their lowest point.

CBS Sports noted that the loss puts the Raiders at 32nd among all NFL teams in the league after Week 14. CBS also notes that the Raiders will need to find a long-term quarterback. Luckily for the Raiders, they may be ready to make one of the top picks.

The Raiders have had a number of stars shine throughout the season, with rookie tight end Brock Bowers he took media attention by storm with his record-breaking season accolades. Bowers and Jakobi Meyers were the key receiving pieces for the Raiders this season and players Raider Nation depended on.

While the defensive line loves it Maxx Crosby and Robert Spillane, the other members of the defense, haven’t caught the attention of many fans. After Week 14, the Raiders defense ranked 30th in average points allowed per game, according to ESPN. The Raiders have allowed an average of 27.8 points per game this season.

Luckily for the robbers NFL.com’s In the power rankings, they are above the New York Giants, if their second-place finish is any consolation prize. The Raiders and Giants are circling media platforms and many are predicting that it is now a competition between the two as to who gets the first overall pick.

However, the Raiders have shown that they will not go into the night quietly against opponents and will look to break their nine-game skid when they take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. Desmond Ridder is the likely quarterback for the game and for the rest of the season.
