TOLEDO, Ohio – A teacher at a Toledo prep school is facing assault charges after she was accused of being involved in a physical altercation with a 13-year-old student in a classroom.

says WTOL Channel 11 A police report shows the incident occurred Monday at Toledo Preparatory Academy. The Blade reports that the teacher, Brandi Aldrich, 31, is accused of grabbing the teen as he tried to remove her from her desk.

Lucas County court documents show Aldrich eventually put the student in a headlock and then pushed her out of the classroom. The Magazine reports.

WTVG Channel 13 reports this Aldrich was charged Tuesday and released on his own recognizance. According to The Blade, Aldrich has been with the school since August 2023, first as an English teacher and later as a science teacher. The school fired Aldrich, WTOL reported.
