Israeli airstrikes kill at least 31 Palestinians in Gaza, doctors say

Israeli strikes in the northern and central Gaza Strip killed at least 31 Palestinians on Wednesday, most of them in the town of Beit Lahiya in the northern enclave, doctors said.

Health officials said an Israeli airstrike on a house in Beit Lahiya killed at least 22 people, including women and children. Relatives posted the names of the dead on social media.

Palestinian news agency WAFA said at least 30 people lived in the multi-storey building before it was hit, adding that several members of the family remained missing as rescue operations continued throughout the morning.

The Israeli military said it was checking the report.
