Fingerprints of Brian Thompson who killed murder suspect Luigi Mangione

The source did not immediately indicate where the fingerprint was taken from, but CNN reported this earlier a partial print was recovered by police from a water bottle discarded near the shooting scene in Midtown Manhattan.

Mangione, 26, is charged in New York with manslaughter, possession of a firearm and forgery, according to an arrest warrant filed by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

He was arrested on Monday, December 9, after being recognized at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where an employee called police.

After Mangione was arrested in Altoona, authorities say he did discovered a 9mm “ghost gun” – similar to the weapon used to shoot Thompson – in his possession, along with several fake IDs. Yesterday was fast, today is another day. We look forward to beginning our investigation into what evidence may or may not be available.”

The Ivy League graduate also faces charges in Pennsylvania of carrying a weapon and showing a fake ID to a police officer. He was arraigned at a courthouse near Altoona on Tuesday, December 10, and was denied bail. His lawyer also indicated yes fight attempts to extradite him to New York to be charged with murder. Authorities believe Mangione, who reportedly rode a bicycle through Central Park before fleeing the city, deliberately targeted Thompson. In the alleged manifesto, Mangione claims he acted alone.

Several reports claim that Mangione has been dealing with ‘debilitating’ back pain in recent years, with friends and family losing contact with him in recent months.
