20-year-old dead, 2 seriously injured after crash near Wright Patterson AFB

A 20-year-old man is dead and two others were seriously injured after a crash in Dayton on Tuesday.

News Center 7 previously reported that around 4:20 p.m., Dayton police and medics were called to the 4000 block of Valley Pike for reports of a crash.

A Ford Focus was traveling east on Valley Pike when it lost control as it approached Wrightway Road, crossed the center line and struck a GMC Yukon, a Dayton police spokesman said.

The driver of both vehicles, a 21-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries but is in stable condition, police said.

The passenger of the Ford Focus, a 20-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

We are working to determine the identity of the man who died in the crash.
