Gen Beta babies coming in 2025, see today’s most popular names

BabyCenter, a digital tool for parents, has been unveiled The best baby names of 2024 and a new trend wave that will influence the names of the first Generation Beta babies, due in 2025.

This year, Noah sits comfortably at the top of the boys’ list as the most popular name, followed by Liam and Oliver. On the girls’ side, Olivia, Amelia and Emma maintain their positions as the most popular names.

According to the report, ‘E’ names for boys and ‘-lee’ and ‘-lyn’ endings for girls are gaining popularity.

Emrys debuted in the top 1,000 boys’ names this year; it is up 839 places to No. 954. Meanwhile, Emir is up 146 places to No. 632, Enrique is up 121 places to No. 743, Edgar is up 171 places to No. 799, Eliel is up 185 places to No. 824 and Eliseo rose 204 to No. 847. Easton and Everett reentered the top 100 No. 92 and No. 93 respectively.

For girls, the top 100 names list is full of new –lyn endings such as Evelyn, Brooklyn and Madelyn. Other rising stars with the –lyn and –lee endings include: Adalee, up 276 to No. 753; Avalynn, up 402 to #861; Lakelyn, up 184 to No. 869; Rosalee, up 289 to #878; and Maelynn rose 363 places to number 900. All these names enter the top 1,000 for the first time.

As Gen Beta prepares to debut, their parents will be influenced by a host of trends when it comes to their naming, according to the report. French names are gaining popularity in the wake of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris: Raphael, Louis, Beaux, Remi and Gustavo for boys; Louise, Elodie, Arlette and Jolie for girls. The names Stanley (who narrated the cup) and Justin (as in Timberlake) fade in favor. Names inspired by the main characters of Inside Out (Riley for girls), Ripley (Ripley) and The Bear (Carmen for boys) are becoming increasingly popular. The names Caitlin, Kamilla and A’ja, inspired by WNBA players, are seeing significant increases. Celestial names are also becoming increasingly popular: Eclipse and Sol for girls; Orion for boys.
