Rumors that Brown (née Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand) and Carter, 55, had a sexual relationship have been circulating since 2001, when Nas alluded to them tying in with his Carter diss track “Ether.”

In October, rumors began circulating again on social media, prompting Brown to speak out in Carter’s defense.

According to screenshots from fansBrown used her Instagram Stories to debunk rumors that she was forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement that would expire in 2025, calling Carter by his nickname “Hov.”

“Miss me with the fake news,” she wrote. “NDA? Is there no living mother who can stop my story! NDA on my s—gon’ run 100 million.’

In another story, she wrote, “Stop playing while my name longs for comments! I can’t roll with the suckers to take Hov down. You’d better ask about the cloth I’m made of!’

Brown then posted a screenshot of someone telling her to “stay protected” if she decided to speak out, and she responded, “Y’all want me so bad to be anti-HOV Foh post that!”

Shortly after the amended complaint was filed, Carter responded to Roc Nation’s X account, calling the allegations “heinous” and an “attempt at blackmail.” He also labeled Doe’s attorney Tony Buzbee as a “fraud” who hoped that “the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.”

Carter’s attorney reportedly filed paperwork asking a judge to require Jane Doe to “reveal her identity if she wishes to proceed with the lawsuit,” according to court records. Associated press.

Combs’ lawyers are now calling the lawsuit an “attempted extortion.” He is currently behind bars on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, with a trial scheduled for May 2025.
