Daytime soap star, known for ‘The Mod Squad’, has died at the age of 84

Michael Cole, known for his roles as Pete Cochran on ‘The Mod Squad’ and Harlan Barrett on ‘General Hospital’, has died at the age of 84.

Cole died peacefully “surrounded by his loved ones after living a full and vibrant life,” his publicist said The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.

The cause of death was not revealed.

“Michael Cole will be remembered for his warm and generous spirit” and for “his humor, charm and boundless compassion he brought joy to every room he entered.

“A storyteller at heart, he had a way of making those around him feel special, often surprising them with anecdotes from his Hollywood days or sharing wisdom about his remarkable journey,” a statement said. according to The New York Post. “While his loss is deeply felt, his contributions to the arts and his enduring kindness ensure that his memory lives on.”

“The Mod Squad” debuted in 1968 and ran for five seasons on ABC until 1973.

In addition to his appearance on “General Hospital” in 1991, he also guest-starred on television series including ER, 7th Heaven, Diagnosis Murder, Murder She Wrote, CHiPs, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat and Gunsmoke.
