Fortnite drops trailer for John Wick-inspired FPS mode

You might think so Fortnite has “run out of things to do” considering how long it’s been out. After all, the main core of what it does now is offering new skins and creating story chapters that bring in new characters to have fun with. However, the team at Epic Games knows how to shake things up, and the team has done so several times in the past, including with some real game-changers. To that end, a new trailer for the upcoming 5v5 “Tactical FPS Mode” called “Ballistic Launch” was released today. As the trailer shows, it’s not only inspired by the other FPS games you all know and love, but also by John Wick.

Keanu Reeves is a big deal in Hollywood right now, especially since then he’s about to be Shadow The Hedgehog in an upcoming film, and so anyone linking John Wick’s character or the actor to anything is bound to get some attention. As the trailer below shows, this is a true 5v5 first-person experience. You can see this in the way people ‘die’, but instead of just dropping or leaving the game like in the typical Battle Royale mode, they are stripped of the rezz and can reappear for their team later .

That’s key, as it brings a more traditional FPS style to the mix versus the ‘one death and you’re out’ motif that Fortnite does with the most important modes. Another element of the game’s new mode is the tactical element. Not only do we see weapons being fired tactically, but various other weapons, including mines and other equipment, are used to take out enemies with ease. That means you not only have to plan for the maps you’re on, but you also have to anticipate what the enemy team might do.

Simply rushing things will get you killed quickly, and in this game even John Wick can easily go down. The mode is currently in early access! Watch the trailer below:

It’s honestly really cool to see Epic Games shaking up its title with modes like this. We are sure that many people will enjoy becoming John Wick again and showing off his special skills to those who want to see if they can kill the Baba Yaga.

Plus, that’s not the only big-name character in the game. The upcoming story chapter will appear Godzilla and possibly Kong to appear. So things are about to get really big.
