New Hanover Community Endowment announces new chairman and vice chairman of the board of directors

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The New Hanover Community Endowment has named a new chairman and vice chairman of the board of directors.

In an announcement, the Endowment introduced Shannon Winslow as the new chairman and Chris Boney as vice chairman.

Winslow, an inaugural member, has served on the board and vice chair since 2022.

Winslow says the Endowment has made great progress toward change and hopes to add to that.

“I am eager to build on that momentum, working with Chris Boney, the entire Board, our new CEO, the Endowment’s dedicated staff and the Community Advisory Council (CAC),” said Winslow.

Bill Cameron, the outgoing chairman, remains an active board member and says it has been a privilege to chair the Endowment.

“I have no doubt that under Shannon and Chris’ leadership, the Endowment will continue to grow, innovate and have a lasting impact, and I look forward to supporting them as a board member,” said Cameron.

Boney previously chaired the Endowment’s grants committee and has been a board member since 2023.

“There are so many opportunities ahead for the Endowment, and I am honored to work with the Board Chairman and provide leadership with a fresh perspective,” said Boney.

Dr. Khadijia Tribié Reid also returns for a new three-year term. Tribié Reid is the medical director of pediatrics at MedNorth Community Health Center and a public health advocate.

“My goal is the same: to create communities that build children who thrive. Participating on the NHCE board allows me to impact the ecology of our community to optimize health outcomes for families,” said Tribié Reid.

All appointees will begin their new roles on January 1, 2025.
