Michael McIntyre special slammed by fans as they flood the show with the same complaint | Television and radio | Showbiz and television

Michael McIntyre celebrated 25 years of stand-up comedy, but not all fans were happy.

To mark this milestone, the BAFTA award-winning ‘King of Stand-Up’ returned to the London Palladium for a hilarious stand-up comedy special.

The comedian, 48, said: “I’ve had an amazing 25 years since my first stand-up gig and the BBC have been such a big part of that, giving me some wonderful stages to perform on, from Live at the Apollo to Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.

“That’s why it’s so fitting and such an honor to celebrate this milestone with this stand-up special of all the new jokes on BBC One and iPlayer.”

However, the show wasn’t a success for everyone, as several viewers rushed to share their cheeky thoughts.

One wrote: “Every time I’ve seen Michael McIntyre live it’s always made me cry with laughter. But not tonight. Is it just me or wasn’t it that funny?”

Another said: “So far this #michaelmcintyre stand up show is average at best, sorry. I don’t know why the audience is laughing so hard.”

A third added: “Maybe I’m just in the wrong mindset tonight but I don’t find this #MichaelMcIntyre show funny at all. I like him most of the time, but I didn’t laugh once. But the crowd is laughing so it could just be my mood.”

Another viewer replied: “It’s not you. I don’t find it funny at all. Such high expectations.”

A fifth bluntly claimed: “Literally the most unfunny person #MichaelMcIntyre.”

Despite negative comments from some, others thoroughly enjoyed it, with one person writing: “I laughed my way through the last hour watching Michael McIntyre’s show on BBC. Hilarious! And the joke about the ‘silent letter day’ completely blew my mind. I cried with laughter. Too funny.”

A second agreed: “I just couldn’t breathe, crying, belly laughing at Michael McIntyre; absolutely hilarious!”

Another wrote: “And now I’m crying laughing because Michael McIntyre is going on about silent letters – omg.”

Following suit, a third wrote: “I cried and cried laughing watching #MichaelMcIntyre. The last ten minutes of his #BBC1 show were the funniest I’d heard in years.”

Someone else said: “What a brilliant Saturday night on BBC1 – fantastic, inspiring #StrictFinal win for Chris McCausland followed by an absolutely hilarious one #MichaelMcIntyre – went from tears of emotion at one show to tears of laughter at another!!”
