23-year-old motorcyclist without headlights seriously injured in accident in Cantonment

CANTONMENT, Fla. – A 23-year-old Pensacola man riding a motorcycle was seriously injured in a crash in Cantonment Friday evening, a report said.

Florida Highway Patrol says the motorcyclist was traveling north on Tate Road around 8:20 p.m. while a sedan carrying five teenagers from Pensacola was traveling south. He did not have his headlights on while he was in a dark area.

The driver of the sedan – a 16-year-old girl – was turning left onto Pompano Road when the motorcyclist struck the right side of her vehicle. His motorcycle then overturned.

The motorcyclist was taken to Sacred Heart with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The 16-year-old driver of a sedan and her 15-year-old passengers were not injured.

FHP says the motorcyclist was cited for driving with a suspended license, no license plate and no headlights.
