Deion Sanders denies that son Shedeur Sanders would refuse to play for Giants

NFL Hall of Fame legend and current Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders wants to set the record straight regarding his son’s NFL future.

Sanders, who has said in the past that he will intervene behind the scenes if the “wrong team” tries to draft his son Shedeur, mentions reports of the younger Sanders refusing to play for the Giants or Cleveland Browns if drafted. a lie’.

The elder Sanders’ statement follows a report from the X account NFL Rookie Watch, which wrote that “there is reportedly a ‘high probability’ that Sanders would refuse to play if he were drafted by the Giants or the Browns” and that the Giants would “make an arrangement” for Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

To be fair, Sanders is partially responsible for the reports swirling about where his son will and will not play at the next level.

He recently appeared at an event with Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Piece and told Pierce he had to do just that draft the Sanders guys” (Shedeur and Shilo).

According to Tankathon, the Raiders are currently ranked No. 1 in the draft, ahead of the Giants, with four games remaining.

The elder Sanders has also been very vocal about the type of situation he wants his son to find himself in he will intervene when the wrong team drafts his son.

“I’m not going to do it publicly. I’m going to do it privately,” Sanders said during a guest appearance on Speak when asked if he would try to influence where his son ended up.

Sanders didn’t directly mention any NFL teams as ones he would be involved with if they drafted his son, but he did outline some criteria he would like to see from the organization that selects Shedeur in the upcoming draft.

“Someone who can handle the quarterback that he is. Someone who can handle understanding what he’s capable of,” he said during the Spea interview.

“Someone who has had success dealing with quarterbacks in the past or someone in an organization understands what they’re doing, and you’re not just throwing it out into the world (and) you don’t have the support in the team’s infrastructure.”

Sanders’ words have brought back memories of the 2004 draft, when Eli Manning was initially drafted first overall by the then-San Diego Chargers, who later traded him to the New York Giants after his father, Archie, expressed concerns about the state of the Chargers organization.
